unique number plate

What is unique about this number plate?
It has beige / golden characters against a white background. The colour of the characters blends with the colour of the vehicle.
Do the cops care - maybe not - given that there was a big flag of a political party fluttering in front of the vehicle!

Another bus stop-Bangalore

This is not an official bus stop but an unoffcial one. It is at the place where the indiranagar-airport road flyover - the point where the flyover takes you towards indiranagar from airport road while driving towards domlur from the diamond district side.
This bus stop is bang in the middle of the road.
Are the authorities stupid? Can they not understand that this is hazardous not only to the people who are using the bus stop but for every one around?
Another case of lack of use of the grey cells in traffic management in bangalore

Bus Bays in Bangalore

There are bays for busses to park (bust stands) to pick up and drop passengers in some of the busy roads. However, many of the busses park outside these bays. This not only results in inconveniencing the passengers who have to get off/on in the middle of the road, it also creates traffic pile up behind these busses which occupy a middle lane, thus blocking off more than 2/3 of the road.
Why can not a person from the transport corporation be posted near these bays to ensure that the drivers get it right????

Recession

Has the recession hit the people around us? If you are one who drives to office, it is very likely that you have noticed that the traffic has eased a bit.
I drive between Langford Town and Whitefield every day I go to work. An 18 km stretch that is not one of the most pleasant drives.
For the last few weeks I have noticed that I am able to both reach and drive out of Whitefield more comfortably. There are visibly lesser vehicles on the road.
The infrastructure certainly has not improved and is probably the only constant in this scenario is the poor state of infrastructure....in fact even this is not a constant as it keeps deteriorating all the time.
The point is I feel the recession has hit the person around us. It has physically reached us. We may not know any one who has got the sack....or have not got it ourselves...and that is certainly good news.
Want to improve the economy???...spend more...(save a bit if you feel guilty to spend too much)...and be happy!!

Is BJP upto its tricks?

It is a well known fact that come summer and scheduled power cuts are the norm of the day. There are at least two hours of scheduled power cuts in summer and this commences around early March and continues till around end May.
However, in the run up to the elections that took place on 23rd April in parts of Karnataka including Bangalore there seemed to be no power cuts at all but for those on account of some tripping due to excess drawal of power.
Now that the elections are over, the power cut is back and how!! On a Sunday (26th April) morning, it commenced in the early hours of the day (well before 4 am) and continued till around 9 am.
Are these sign of things to come?
Is the Government back to scheduled load shedding? I certainly hope not! I hope the Government is able to supply us with uninterrupted power in summer.

HiI was thinking the same thing and chanced upon your blog. I hope that the power cuts do not come back but I still wonder what the BJP is upto.......

twilight sky

A nice view of the evening sky when taking an evening walk close to home. Could not avoid the street lights or the wires from where I was.

Snap while driving - taken with the camera on the mobile - doing good speed. The sky was on fire @ around 5 pm and I just had to click it.
You may see a reflection of my dashboard at the bottom of the pic!
